Capabilities, not a product catalogue

What needs to be clarified before a custom wig can be assessed and developed?

Duo helps organise the wearer’s needs, appearance goals and purchasing conditions into questions a suitable factory can evaluate. The exact solution depends on the person, use case, specification and factory capability.

Comfort

Sensitive wearing needs

Scalp sensitivity, daily wear time, ventilation, softness and contact points need to be understood before a cap is recommended.

Security

Cap and attachment

Glueless, adhesive-assisted, silicone, PU, comb, clip and adjustable options involve different trade-offs for comfort and security.

Texture, density and finish

Texture references, density distribution, length, colour, movement and final silhouette must be translated into workable production details.

What factories need to assess

One request can involve several connected decisions.

01

Wearer and use case

Hair-loss pattern, scalp sensitivity, climate, daily wear time, styling routine and the level of discretion required.

02

Measurements and fit

Head circumference, front-to-nape, ear-to-ear and any non-standard sizing or pressure concerns.

03

Base construction

Full lace, mono, silk-style top, PU or silicone areas, stretch zones, lining and ventilation.

04

Front and parting

Lace type and colour, hairline shape, knot treatment, parting range, baby hair and edge density.

05

Hair specification

Material, origin claims that require evidence, colour, grey percentage, length, texture, density and processing.

06

Development conditions

Sample quantity, target order size, timing, private label needs, acceptable adjustments and evaluation criteria.

Natural and modest appearance

“Natural” is not one product option.

For one wearer, natural may mean a very light density and an understated hairline. For another, it may mean a secure cap, believable scalp effect and controlled volume. The factory needs the intended result and the wearing context—not only the word “natural.”
