Silicone vs Velvet Wig Grip Bands: A Wholesale Buyer’s Checklist

Updated October 27, 2026

Before ordering wig grip bands for your shop, salon or installation studio, decide which wigs they will be worn with and the fit your customers need. Check silicone and velvet designs separately. A supplier photo can show the construction, but it cannot establish fit or performance.

Check each band’s construction

The silicone wig grip band listing shows a raised-dot surface. The adjustable velvet band with lace panel shows a front lace section and hook-and-loop fastening at the back. These details help you identify the designs; comfort and hold still need checking with the intended wig and wearer.

If you are looking for a velvet wig grip with a silicone strip, confirm that construction separately. A silicone lining has not been verified for the velvet-and-lace design compared here.

MOQ is supplier-listed; confirm how it applies to your selected colors and packaging. Check fit and hold with the intended wig and wearer.

Ask for the same details for each design: material specification, band width, total length, closure type and adjustment range. If the supplier describes a band as “non-slip” or “universal fit,” ask what supports that claim for the exact product you are considering.

Check the fit with the intended wig

Write down the head-circumference range you need. Check where the band and any lace panel sit under the wig cap, then check whether the adjustment works for that setup. Use measurements for the design you are ordering. Another supplier’s measurements may refer to a different band.

Agree on the color and construction before arranging a sample. Check the actual band with the intended wig; a display-head photo cannot settle the fit. Ask whether samples are available and what the sample and shipping charges are. Do not assume samples are free.

Keep lace melt bands separate

A lace melt band is a different installation accessory. A shop can stock both, but each product description needs to explain its intended task. Keep their instructions separate so customers know which accessory they are buying.

What to include in a wholesale inquiry

Send the supplier:

  • Your chosen design or a reference image showing the closure and any lace panel.
  • The required dimensions and fitting range.
  • Quantities by color, with acceptable color references.
  • Your requirements for material information and care instructions.
  • Packaging or artwork requests, plus the delivery postal code.

Ask how the minimum order is counted: per design, per color or across the whole order. Confirm packaging and branding options separately from the plain band specification. Any allergy-related claim needs evidence for the exact product before you use it in your own description.

Request a quote for your shortlist

Shortlist the designs that meet your customers’ requirements and confirm any missing measurements before comparing final quotes. Browse grip and installation bands or send Duo your product and quantity requirements.

Duo China Sourcing prepared this purchasing checklist from the available product listings. It is not a comparative wear test. Final specifications, sample arrangements and availability need order-specific confirmation.
